If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.
There are times when you feel like moving solo when travelling in groups. Those long hours of struggling with patience and demanding people. Those long hours being wasted just for mere, unnecessary shopping. Those precious minutes of waiting for others. Those too relaxed, short steps during walking. You felt restricted and not pleasant with the hectic itinerary. No, you did not come far for this. All you want was freedom and leisure in your own liking. After all, isn’t it YOUR vacation? You wanted your own time, moving smooth and swift. You felt like moving in your own pace. You kept thinking, “Wouldn’t it be awesome if I came alone? Got nobody so pushy around me, I’m all by myself!”
Not so fast, huh?
In the end, you realized that the key to having the best vacation ever is the company. Be it anyone, your family, partners, colleagues or even strangers. They are the ones whom you could laugh with, share stories with and even wink at. Someone who actually felt your presence. Someone to complete the group photo. Someone who should be taking your single shots in the sunset view. Someone to watch your bags whenever you go to the restroom. Someone to remind you of your passport again and again. Someone you know you could rely upon when it comes to waking up in morning. Someone who will offer you a drink when he/she sees you thirsty. Someone who is kind enough to lend you their adapters/power banks/USB cable/toothpaste. The only person perhaps who dared to perform CPR on you during emergency. Someone whom you can proudly mention/tag whenever you update your social networks after/during the holidays. Obviously.
Whoever you might be travelling with, never take him/her for granted. Appreciate their willingness to leave home; investing their money to take on those adventures and thrills with you. Consider yourself lucky enough to be invited by your travelmates for a getaway! Remember, you are the Chosen One, aren’t you?
